War Anime?

So yeah, whos heard of some war anime? Want something really serious. Not light and stuff.

Library wars is based around a war, but it's more or so a comedy. But there are war features.
They made the Suikoden games into a manga, the games are all about wars.
They only made a manga for the third Suikoden, I actually have it at my library.. never really bothered to pick it up since I played the game 398234 times.

Do they have to be like legit or can it be something fantasy? Like full metal brotherhood..

Only good one I can think and is a war is valkyria chronicles.

Have you seen Area 88? Mercenary pilots in modern real world jets.

I recommend it if you're okay with watching a show that's almost 40 years old.

It doth not matter to me if or just in case its older or something else, it really is not a matter to me. I can watch almost anything.
