Bakuman
Bakuman is a story about 2 boys and their dream to become mangaka. Mashiro (aka Saikou) is the artist, Takagi (Shujin) is the storywriter. The story focuses on their struggle to become successful mangaka so they can fulfill their dream of having their own Anime. They were originally just classmates and not even friends, but their devotion to becoming mangaka make them become best friends.
This was written and drawn by the author and artist from Death Note. Though mind you Death Note fans this is a completely different show. If someone didn't mention this, some probably wouldn't realize it. Though since Takashi Obata is a fantastic artist, the art work is amazing as usual. I'm not going to downplay the story, it's great in a different fashion than Death Note.

Re: Bakuman
You sure we're talking about the same series? There are no cards in this.

Re: Bakuman
Maybe the name of the series sounds like it would be like Yugioh but there's nothing in the series about playing cards. From the first episode on it's all about "hey, let's be professional mangaka!"
That's from the first paragraph in Wiki
The series follows talented artist Moritaka Mashiro and aspiring writer Akito Takagi, two ninth grade boys who wish to become manga artists, with Mashiro as the artist and Takagi as the writer respectively.

Oops, I got the wrong end of the stick then. Title was misleading... I thought twas quite like Beyblade too? Like with tournaments & fights over cards?Grungie wrote:Maybe the name of the series sounds like it would be like Yugioh but there's nothing in the series about playing cards. Re: Bakuman
No there's nothing like that. Bakuman is about 2 guys aspiring to become Manga writers. It follows their path of fulfilling their dream by taking all the necessary steps to get serialized and get their own anime series.
Re: Bakuman
Because my cousin was watching it on TV... so yeah... but I got the wrong end of the situation, sorry.

Re: Bakuman
Yeah, I'm thinking you confused the title with something else. They don't even show this on TV.
Re: Bakuman
Yeah, I did with YGO & Beyblade even. The title sounded unfamiliar to me...
